Fellowship programs

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

Types

  • European Postdoctoral Fellowships offer 1-2 year research opportunities in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, welcoming researchers of any nationality moving to or within Europe.
  • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships support EU nationals and long-term residents for 2-3 year research periods, combining 1-2 years in a non-European country with a mandatory 1-year return phase in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country.

Eligibility

  • Should have a PhD degree at the time of the deadline for applications. Applicants who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but who have not yet formally been awarded the doctoral degree will also be considered eligible to apply.
  • Must have a maximum of 8 years experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree, years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards the above maximum, nor will years of experience in research in third countries, for nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries who wish to reintegrate to Europe.
  • Should comply with mobility rules: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships), or the host organisation for the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships) for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.
  • A strong track record of the candidate (CV + list of publications in high-level journals) significantly increases chances of being funded.

LMT postdoctoral fellowships

Eligibility

  • Researcher who has a science doctorate degree awarded by a Lithuanian or foreign science and studies institution, and for whom no more than 5 years have passed from the date of the science doctoral dissertation defense to the date of the application submission deadline specified in the call for proposals (this period is extended 18 months (in the case of maternal pregnancy and childbirth, parental leave) for each child born before or after the date of obtaining the doctoral degree, upon presentation of the birth certificates of the child(s), or during a specific actual period, upon presentation of documents justifying pregnancy and childbirth, paternity leave or leave period(s) to look after the child(s)) and carrying out the scientific research work provided for in the project.
  • A strong track record of the candidate (CV + list of publications) significantly increases chances of being funded.

Duration

Duration of the postdoctoral fellowship project: 24 months.
