Justinas Grigaitis
Visiting lecturer at ISM University
Justinas Grigaitis is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Zurich. His research examines how generative AI affects student learning and children’s cognitive development. Through field experiments in higher and secondary education across Switzerland, India, and the United States, he studies how AI can make education more accessible and interactive while preserving the necessary productive struggle for durable learning. His earlier research combined economics and cognitive science to study decision-making under uncertainty and optimal information acquisition.
Before starting his PhD, Justinas worked as a consultant in the Antitrust and Competition Practice at NERA Economic Consulting in New York. He has also advised small and medium-sized enterprises on AI integration and helped implement customer-facing AI tools for sales and customer support. Alongside his academic work, Justinas has co-founded an edtech startup developing AI-enhanced learning tools for higher education.
Justinas is passionate about making research and technical subjects accessible to both students and industry professionals. He has taught courses in econometrics, data analysis, and programming, aiming to equip students with practical skills necessary for data-driven decision making. He also enjoys communicating about scientific research to broader audiences online.
Justinas holds a double bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris, where he studied Economics and Political Science.
